Driver POV Geoff Lane

NewsPosted on 22nd May 2016

Round 2 would see a slightly differently looking car for Geoff Lane. His S14 had been treated to new front from an S15.

This seemed to give him the boost he needed, he was very impressive in practice and confidence was high.

What a venue, great crowd and a great track. After a initial struggle with grip around the track I was able to get a good amount of speed with a fairly confident practice session. A fantastic effort from the organisers for managing to let everyone get plenty of valuable laps.   After round 1 at Rockingham finishing in the top 8 I was pretty confident for round 2 but….

image2After a “incident” on clip 6 right at the end of practice I went into qualifying a little less confident. Just about made the top 32 landing a 30th position.

Once the battles started the crowd was bang on it! And that’s always good to see. Went into the first battle against Arron Stevens but managed to miss a gear off the start on my chase run and dropping 2 wheels of track trying to play catch up haha. My lead run felt good but not quite enough compensate for the fail before hand.

Despite an early exit from the competition, Geoff would join the crowd who would witness a fantastic event.

The rest of the battles where impressive with some aggressive driving and the crowd was loving it. Hopefully there’s another good atmosphere at round 3.

Can’t wait to get stuck in and hit Three Sisters Raceway near Wigan on the 2nd July!
