HEL DriftCup dates 2018

It is with great pleasure we can now announce the dates and venues that will make up HEL DriftCup 2018!

The championship will continue to be the feeder series, the only route for competitors who wish to drive in the British Drift Championship (BDC).

In 2018, the top 8 drivers from each HEL DriftCup round will be offered a place in the following BDC event.

Round 1 – March 11th – Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby 

The season will start as part of the 2018 Spring DriftMatsuri at Rockingham Motor speedway.

The outer paddock will be transformed into a bespoke design to encourage proximity. The event will take place on Sunday the 11th March, drivers will be offered the chance to practice on the same layout on Saturday. This will allow drivers to hone their skills ready for competition on Sunday.

Round 2 – April 15th – Three Sisters Race Circuit, Wigan. 

We will make a welcome return to Three Sisters Race Circuit near Wigan.

The north west venue is a crowd and drivers favourite, with new sections of tarmac being laid. A new layout might be on the cards for the drivers in 2018.

Round 3 – June 17th -Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby 

A return to Rockingham Motor Speedway will see another bespoke designed track. The outer paddock as used for Rockingham Drift days will be used.

In 2018 this will be within the Motor Madness UK event. This is an event which will blow your mind!

We are also offering visitors a rare opportunity not only get up close and personal but to take a passenger ride in some of the most amazing cars on the planet. On Sunday the 17th June 2018 we will have hundreds of Super/Hyper Cars gathering at the renowned Rockingham Speedway to take part in this unique event.

With 50% of the proceeds of the event going to Help for Heroes and the Mia Moo Foundation children cancer charity, we can’t wait to be apart of a fantastic event!

Round 4 – July 15th – Teesside Autodrome 

DriftCup returns to the the birth place of the BDC for round 4.

The LARGE track as used by the BDC will be in operation! The track has seen epic battles for a number of years in the past and 2018 will be no exception.

The venue will feature a practice day on Saturday. This will allow those who haven’t driven this epic track, the chance to see what it takes to run the perfect line.

Round 5 – September 2nd – Driftland – Fife

The first purpose built drift track in Europe will host the finale of the season.

The venue offers walls, hairpins, little room for error. The perfect track for close battles and an incredible end any the championship.

 

In addition to the championship dates, HEL DriftCup drivers will be invited to various events throughout the season. Modified Nationals at Peterborough is always a crowd favourite, HEL DriftCup and BDC drivers will be on hand taking passengers on a date with a difference.

Japfest and a new show of Trax Donington will run at Donington with passenger rides once again being the highlight for many who visit the shows.

Trax will be held at the home of British Motorsport, Silverstone. A new date of October the 7th will see a large number of HEL DriftCup competitors, join BDC drivers on the hallowed tarmac.

The entry fee for 2017 will be £159 per round.

Full details of how, when and where to book will be announced on the 2nd January.
